X5 daytime running light that turned yellow or went dark
On the G05 X5, the daytime running light is an LED module that shines through a light guide. Owners usually see one of two things:
- The DRL on one side looks yellow or brown instead of white
- Part of the DRL, or all of it, stays dark

When the DRL module overheats inside the headlight
If the module that powers the DRL overheats, it can scorch or melt the light guide next to it. That is the yellow or brown mark owners see.

Condensation in a 2019–2020 X5 headlight
A 2019 or 2020 X5 can hold fog or droplets behind the lens that do not clear after driving. A failed seal lets moisture in, and it can reach the LEDs. The housing is dried and resealed as part of the repair.
