Signs of an adaptive headlight malfunction
The warning names the system, not the failed part. Common symptoms:
- An adaptive lighting warning on the dash after you start the car
- The beam no longer turns with the steering wheel
- One headlight aims too high, too low or to the side
- A clicking or buzzing from the headlight at start-up
Is it the headlight or something else?
The adaptive system has parts inside and outside the headlight.

- Outside the headlight: ride height sensors, wiring, fuses and the car's own control units. A local shop checks these on the car.
